6:00AM yesterday we received a call from Tonita saying they were headed to the hospital and that Gwizzie was on her way. At 7AM, they called to tell us that they were admitted. We rushed out of the house (forgetting to turn off the sprinklers… Thanks Eric for getting up so early to turn them off for us!) and headed to the hospital, stopping by a few places to get breakfast for Daddy-to-be, Danny. We were able to hang out in the room with Danny & Tonita up until 2:00PM, when the nurse kicked us out and announced Tonita was ready to start pushing! A few hours later, their beautiful…

22 Weeks
From Baby Center: At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he’s even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you’d be able to spot the fine hair that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he’ll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the…

21 Weeks
From Baby Center: Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like he’s practicing martial arts as his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. In other developments, your baby’s eyebrows and lids are present now. You’re probably feeling pretty comfortable these days. You’re not too big yet, and the usual discomforts associated with early pregnancy are, for the most part, gone. If you’re feeling good, relax and enjoy it while you can —…

Do you want a hint?
We will give you three helpful hints. First, a masterfully written haiku. Second, a statement whose meaning is entirely obvious. Third, a hint on the photo. Maybe, just maybe, we are just sitting here at home laughing ourselves to tears. Blowing wind, blue sky,Starry night to reach so high,A child grows inside. Boy or Girl?!?
Get your votes in now! We go in for our Big Ultrasound tomorrow (not that I am saying that we will or won’t find out…) A few things about the pregnancy that may or may not influence your vote… 1. I had morning sickness, but it ended after the first trimester and wasn’t terrible.2. I craved fruit & orange juice & goldfish crackers3. Baby’s heartbeat has been between 146-160BPM The quiz at http://www.childbirth.org says that I have a 43% chance of having a boy and a 56% chance of having a girl. And Here’s Why… You are carrying the extra weight out front, so it’s a boy.The hair on your…

Redesign: Mary R Snyder
Back in July, I gave author and speaker, Mary R. Snyder a new look for her site. A month ago she contacted me again and wanted a fresh new design that portrayed the new direction she is heading. She wanted a fun, retro site that showed her and her girlfriends on the adventure of a lifetime. I really enjoyed working with Mary once again and had so much fun drawing and playing with this fun new design. Check out her site and join her on the Adventure of a Lifetime!

Doctor Visit
So, yesterday at the doctor pretty much went like this: Step on the scale. Check blood pressure. Take pregnancy test. Check baby’s heartbeat. Leave. I did manage to stop her for half a second to ask a few questions and see what the heartbeat was (146 BPM), but that was about it. I also got a referral for the ultrasound and once Kenny gets back today we will call and schedule it. While getting rushed through an appointment isn’t great, I still really like my doctor. She is efficient and decisive and I know that she knows what she is doing and can make tough, quick decisions. We’ll let you…
